Re: 6x6 core
You rest after each cluster of 6 reps. As noted on the bottom of page 7 in the hybrid description, you would rest after you had completed 3 reps of bench presses and 3 reps of deadlifts, with those two exercises performed back to back. After your 3 minute rest, you would do 3 reps of incline dumbbell presses and 3 reps of weighted chin-ups back to back, then take another 3-minute rest break. Taken in order, this would look like the following:
3 reps bench press
no rest
3 reps deadlift
3-minute break
3 reps incline dumbbell press
no rest
3 reps weighted chin-up
3-minute break
You would repeat these two clusters five more times, for a total of 33 minutes of resting and, assuming about 4 seconds per rep, a total of less than 5 minutes of lifting. Add in your warm-up time, and time spent loading your bars and changing exercises, and you should take about 50 minutes or less for the entire workout.
You have the option to use only two exercises for the 6x6, also as seen on page 7. In that case, you would squat for 6 reps (per the printed example), take a 3-minute break, do 6 reps of a straight-leg deadlift, take a 3-minute break, and so on, until you had completed 6 sets of each exercise.
