Improving Your Muscle Building Regime

It is a constant source of amazement how so many bodybuilders go into a muscle building program today and expect to be someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger tomorrow.

If you are currently on a training regimen, you must have met such a guy in your gym. Maybe you could be one yourself. While it is true that fast and dramatic results can be achieved by working out correctly, you should not expect miracles.

Building a killer physique that you can display with pride is a slow process of losing body fats and replacing them with muscles. The human body is a complex mechanism and shedding off extra fats and building muscles at the same time is not an easy endeavor. A balance between the two should be achieved and only when done correctly can the results be impressive.

If you want to experience dramatic muscle building results, you must get your savvy right. The focal point of every workout regimen is the addition of lean muscles through a process of gradual weight increase for every workout. But it should not be done to a point where an injury is bound to occur. The gradual increase of weight allows the muscles to adapt every time a weight is added, thereby causing them to grow bigger and stronger. If too much weight is added however, the muscles will not be able to bear the stress and will result in torn muscle tissues and ligaments. Worse is if you incur broken bones.

It is then important if you could enlist the services of a qualified gym instructor or fitness trainer. He has the necessary knowledge to guide you in formulating your program and advice you on how to perform each exercise. You should be able to follow the muscle building program that you have with commitment and passion or you will fail, no matter how good your program is. Another reason for having a program that is tailored for you is that, there are many factors involved in muscle building. A program that was devised for developing another person’s body may not be suitable for you since you may have different body types and fitness levels.

Further Muscle Building Regime Advice

Give your body a reason to see muscle growth throughout the process. Hence, you must have a progress chart with you as well which will document the results of each bodybuilding exercise. If you are not content with what you see every week, you can hasten the muscle building process by confusing your muscles. This can be done by changing the rest times between your sets. The muscles respond to these changes by getting bigger, thereby producing more dramatic results. The confusion also serves to burn any unnecessary calories in your body thereby producing leaner muscles.

As you go along your chosen muscle building path, do not forget your cardiovascular fitness. This is important if you want to stay longer on a workout. Some people do it by jogging or running for a mile or two before and after workouts; but this can be too much if you are just starting out on a training regimen. Always take note of your curreny fitness level before engaging in any activity which you have not done before.

Alternately, you can run on days when you do not have a weight lifting session. Start with a distance that is comfortable for you, adding more as your cardio level increases. You can also try biking which is better since it does not place too much stress on your knees and ankles. But if outdoors is not your thing, you can try beating the treadmill instead.
