View Full Version : Idea: organized group workouts

Hey I just had an idea to help people stay motivated with their workout routines.

There's already aerobic classes where people can get together and motivate eachother to complete an aerobic workout, so why not have a gym, or section of a gym that is just dedicated to a group of people to motivate eachother to get through a weight training workout.

Everyone in each group would each have the same goals and there could be a bunch of stations, each with the same equipment, and the weights can be set up for each individual's abilities.

Each person would move from one excersize to the next at the same time (or close to it), and in 45min to an hour they all get done with their workout.

It could be set up for power lifting, muscle building, or fat loss, and the program could change depending on the individual.

This could be an idea for a whole gym, since this would take up a whole gym and wouldn't leave much room for others.

If someone gets the most benefit from changing their workout every month, then they switch to the class that's doing the next workout on their pre-made schedule.

If someone does best by switching every 6-8weeks, then they'd stay with the program they're in untill they're ready to go to the next, and so on.

This may seem far fetched, but I think that working out with others who have the same goals as you would keep one's interest and make the people look forward to going to their next workout.

What do you guys (and gals) think?

Great idea; however keep in mind how much people's goals differ. It's difficult to find a one-fits-all weight training program.

Then you have the fact that 99% of male weight trainers would want to sign up for the "Only do bench presses and curls in extremely shitty form" class.
