OK, I havn't posted in a while and was thinking of something to talk about so here goes...

I was thinking, what if one was to use opposing muscles as resistance for eachother?

For example, putting your arms in a bench press position and pushing your arms foreward with your chest and shoulders, while using your back and rear shoulders to pull your arms back. The whole time keeping as much pressure as possible to keep your arms moving.

Another example would be curling with your bis while pulling down with your tris.

I'm thinking that if you record your reps and squeeze as hard as possible for each rep, you could then try to constantly improve each workout.

Eventually the weaker opposing muscles would get stronger and provide more of a challenge for the stronger ones, which would, in turn, make them even stronger and provide the others with more of a challenge.

I guess if this really worked, no one would need any equipment, so I'm assuming that it doesn't work, but it is something to talk about.

Limited potential because of limited opportunity for progressive resistance. I'm sure Pete Sisco will come out with it soon and call it a SuperDuperIsoAntaganoStaticoRep.
