I just saw their comercial for the first time. They're all over the internet when I did a search for "bowflex dumbbells" on google.

I think they realy out did themselves this time. This is the first company I've seen that has given the powerblocks some competition.

These look better and less bulkey than the powerblocks, but as I'm reading on their website, I'm finding out that they only go up to 52.5lbs. That alone just turned me off to the idea of buying these :(

I hope they plan to at least offer an add-on for these so they can be upgraded to hold more weight.

They look like they'd feel better than the powerblocks, stability wise, they're a lot cheaper, but they don't go as heavy.

Maybe Weider will come out with some that are cheaper and go heavier???

Anyone else see these?

Correction, it seems that the powerblocks are cheaper, but don't go as heavy (without their add on), but with the add on that allows for up to 85lbs ineach hand, makes the cost almost twice as much.

I would still like to see bowflex's design with heavier options...

I may have mentioned this in another thread, but personally, if I'm starting a home gym, I'd get small Olympic bars (dumbbell-sized) and just add plates. It would save a ton of room and would be cheaper than these other options (PBs, BF).

Wow, I completely forgot about those. I used to have a small set of dumbbells that you can add weight to.
Cheaper, saves room, allows you to go as heavy as needed, and doesn't take long to switch weights.

Thanks for the reminder. I must have gotten caught up in the advertisements.

I just used my selectech dumbels for the first time and just noticed how much heavier the weight is on the dumbels compared to the Bowflex Machine. I watched the DVD that came with the dumbels called the secret to the 4 step rep and I got quite a workout. Now remember I'm not a body builder, I'm just trying to get into shape. When I was done working out everything was pumped and quivering. lol I never got that with the Bowflex machine itself. eom
