Gang, thought I would add a movie thread. I rent probably see 1-3 movies per week and will see almost anything. I have seen too many to list this year but wanted to list a few that came to mind that are worth seeing. I consider a movie worth seeing if it gets a C or higher, so that’s the lowest grade you will find. I am a big movie and music buff and have invested a good portion of my income (for too big a portion!) to my home entertainment system. Here’s my short list.

• The Twilight Samurai. Best movie I have seen in a long time, even with the subtitles!
Must see movie. It’s not an action movie as much as a love story, human story, and story of friendship, but the few sword fights in the movie are great. Stunning movie making. A+

• Garden State. Sort of a modern coming of age movie with better dialog and acting then you would normally see in the typical coming of age type movie. A –/B+

• I love the Hukabees. Despite the really stupid name, I enjoyed this movie a lot. It’s sort of a metaphysical oddball comedy with some great acting. What it was supposed to teach the viewer, but I enjoyed it. B+

• The Incredibles. If you like animation, in particular computer animation, this is a must see movie. Actually lives up to its hype. Even for those not into animation, no one will fail to enjoy this movie regardless of age. A+

• Shark Tale. I am a big fan of any of these CGI computer animation movies (eg, Bugs Life, Shreck, etc.) so I rent any and all of them. This is a fun movie, but it’s no Incredibles and more geared toward kids and die hard lovers of the genre like me. B-/C+

• Shaun of The Dead. Dark twisted humor at its best. It’s a spoof on the Dawn of The Dead movies (human eating zombies and all) and is both funny and creapy.A campy low budget good movie. B+

• Troy. Better then I expected with some good “cast of zillions” battle scenes. It’s no Spartacus, but it’s a good rental. C+

• Flight of the Phoenix. A fairly predictable outcome, but some great special effects and some good character development for this type of movie. Nothing you will remember a year from now, but a decent rental. C+

• Pirates of the Caribbean. I expected this to be a silly kids movie and rented because they were out of what I wanted and was stunned to find this movie was so good. Johnny Depp is amazing, special effects and sets are first rate, and a good time is had by all. Biggest surprise of the year for me. A

The Forgotten- Best movie I've seen in a while. I've never been a big fan of Julianne Moore, actually when I saw that she was in it, I thought it wasn't going to be any good.

Pretty cool twists in it and I wouldn't even want to explain the plot because I think it would give too much away.

I saw this without seeing any previews or knowing anything about it and I think that's the best way to see a movie like this.

I agree with Will on Troy (C+) and Pirates of the Caribbean (A). I haven’t seen the other movies but “Shaun of The Dead” sounds like my cup of tea so I’m gonna have to see it.

My vote goes to “White Chicks”. That movie really cracked me up.
