Hi, I am new here, and I did do a search on this before posting...

I was just wondering what everyones thought were on body hair, or lack thereof. Almost all the pictures I see of bodybuilders and fitenss models seem to remove all their body hair.

Do most people on this forum do this as well? If so, do you remove it ALL, or just some. What is the preferred method of removal, waxing, shaving, or cream? Did any guys ever get teased by their friends about this? I think I look ok, (still working on it) but should I wait until I loose more weight and add muscle?

Just curious...

I see some of the guys were a little shy about responding to this question... :D

For what it's worth, I've seen a few pictures of some of the men here...while the photo quality isn't great, most of the torsos look pretty smooth - so I expect that there's been some hair removal going on. We don't have many competitive bbers here, so I doubt that any of the longer-lasting and/or permanent techniques are being used. If I had to guess, I'd guess a chemical depilatory like Nair. Shaving doesn't last very long, and carries the risk of nicks or cuts.

As for myself, I do the typical female stuff: legs and underarms. You couldn't pay me to get a Brazilian or Hollywood Wax. I'm not particularly shy, but simple leg waxing is painful enough - and I'm not eager to try it on more...sensitive areas.

Back in the day, for example:

I shaved everything daily. Now, I don't bother. Just glad I am naturally not very hairy anyway. :D

I would say shaving is still the most common method, but men are getting waxed more often and lazer treatments are more common also.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not overly anxious to remove it since it seems like another thing to stay on top of (in addition to diet, logs, progress, routines, etc etc) It seems like a pain to me, but from most photos, it looks like everyone does it! I was just curious if this is just my perceprion, or do most people do it. As you know, marketing departments try very hard to create "perceptions" of how your suppposed to look, and what "everyone else" is doing!!

And a good thing too. I said waxing was painful...here's an amusing, and somewhat graphic description of a chest waxing gone bad: :D
